It wasn't the prince and the pauper... The more I think back on the fun times I spent with Tiffany, the more details fill in - and the more stories I recall. One that recently popped into mind was the fact that, thanks to Tiffany, I was interviewed on a local talk show. I don't think that was really how she expected things to happen - but I loved it all the same. She called us the week before Easter and said she was going to be in town for an interview, and gave me the place and time. Then I begged my parents to let me go. They had somewhere to be at the exact same time... but I convinced them that at 13 I was a young lady. All they had to do was drop me off, and pick me back up when their meeting was done. Without bothering to doublecheck Tiffany was there, I told my parents to go on to their meeting, I'd be fine. Oops. I walked in the door Tiffany had told me to go to - only to find out that was the "celebrity" entrance and not the one for the general public. :) But I did not mind, I just started making friends. First with the producers of the talk show who found me wondering around their set an hour before the public was to be let in... and then with the hosts of the show. The show was called Sun Up San Diego, and while Tiffany was not there (she had mentally reversed two talk show appointments - and I was there one week early) they treated me fabulously. I was given a prime seat in the audience - where the producers could make sure I was okay, I think they were worried about an unaccompanied minor, and I was doted on the entire time. Was I thirsty? Did I want to see the green room? How did I end up here again? Oh, Tiffany herself called and told me about it - GREAT! Anything I wanted! It was a day to remember. They had a cooking segment, and during the commercial a crew member brought over a sample for me. Then they came out into the audience to interview a boyscout and yet again try and promo Tiffany coming the next week - but the host had a real problem with saying Brissette. The producers had told him that I was a friend of Tiffany's, proven by the fact I knew about the interview before they had even begun promoting it, and told him if he failed one more time at saying her name, to just come interview me. And he did! When my parents arrived to pick me up, they expected me to be very disappointed about not seeing Tiffany, but instead found a very happy young lady, with an open invitation to return to Sun Up San Diego! :) That afternoon, when we finally got home, Tiffany's mom called. (Talk about timing, we were just walking in the door.) She told us to turn to a specific channel, and we saw Tiffany doing a cooking segment on an LA talk show. (A great item, if I can remember the exact recipe I'll post it as I loved the appetizer, and friends said it was good enough it could be a dessert.) As we had already figured out, Tiffany was going to be in San Diego the following week - and I was going to be in Texas spending Easter with my family. Not a perfect ending, but great memories of a fabulous day in which I got a special glimpse into the life of actors such as Tiffany! :) This page was last updated on 07/26/99.
